New achievements made in technological innovation of chromate production

"Chromium salt is one of the eight basic chemical raw materials indispensable to the national economy and is related to 10% of the industrial products". In 2009 the company’s Board of Directors decided to use the autonomously developed the pneumatic fluidization technique for the preparation of sodium chromate. Committed to the development of advanced production methods, the company has successfully developed the clean, environmentally friendly process of pneumatic fluidization tower oxidation—continuous electrolysis—wet-method ferric oxide powder.

 On March 11, 2011 "pneumatic fluidization tower continuous liquid phase oxidation production of chromate salt (sodium, potassium)" by the China petroleum and chemical industry federation organization expert group identified as "overall production technology and equipment has reached the international leading level,"

 In 2011, the product was under the encouraged category in the NDRC’s Order No. 9 "Guidance Catalogue for Industrial Restructuring (2011 Version)"

 In 2011 the clean production technology was under the promoted category in Document No. (2011) No. 381 "Plan for Implementing Cleaner Production in the Chromic Salt Industry” which proposed the quickening of demonstrative application and industrialization of the technology.

 On November 13, 2013 the pneumatic fluidized continuous liquid-phase oxidation process for making sodium dichromate was identified as an internationally advanced technique at an expert appraisal meeting held by Gansu Provincial Commission of Industry and Information Technology.

 On April 26, 2014 the ionic membrane continuous electrolyzing process for making sodium dichromate was identified as a domestically advanced technique at an expert appraisal meeting held by Gansu Provincial Commission of Industry and Communication.

 On November 11, 2014 the wet method process for making iron oxide powder was identified as an internationally advanced technique and the oxidation process for making iron red as a domestically advanced technique at an expert appraisal meeting held by Gansu Provincial Commission of Industry and Communication. These techniques successfully solve the global problem of chromic slag disposal and turn it into a normal industrial solid waste from a hazardous waste

 On April 20, 2016, an opening ceremony was held to mark the commencement of work on the 100,000 tons/year sodium dichromate project and supporting clean production facilities in Baiyin City, Gansu Province
