With human progress, social development and environmental deterioration, demands of people for water quality and environmental protection are clearer and clearer. As basic chemical materials, many products produced by our company are favourite in the fields of water treatment and environmental protection. Characterized by oxidability, convenience for dosing, etc, potassium permanganate is used widely in drinking water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, urban sewage treatment, groundwater treatment, soil remediation and atmospheric pollution control. Sodium permanganate is also used mainly for aniline removal from industrial wastewater because of its characteristics.

Drinking water treatment grade potassium permanganate

Deodorization Potassium permanganate having strong oxidability can remove organic substances from water to realize the deodorization.

Selection of dosing point:

1. Intake head is preferred;

2. To be arranged with dosing sequence of other water treatment reagent: dosing interval is at least 3-5min with other reagent;

3.Determination of dosage: 0.5 - 2.5mg/L potassium permanganate so sufficient to oxidize most organic substances. Generally, 0.6 - 1.2mg/L potassium permanganate can reduce effluent TON to the level not more than 3.

4. Determination of dosing method: if potassium permanganate dosage exceeds 12kg/d, dry powder dosing method is preferred. If it is less than 12kg/d, the pipe shall be dosed by a metering pump with 4% solution prepared, for mixing with the water to be treated.

Sterilization Potassium permanganate having strong oxidability can kill noxious bacteria in water to realize the sterilization.
Removal of heavy metal Potassium permanganate having strong oxidability can make the heavy metal in water oxidized and precipitated to remove the heavy metal.
Removal of ferrum and manganese Potassium permanganate, as a kind of strong oxidant, is characterized by strong oxidability, high stability, convenicence for dosing, etc.

Industrial wastewater treatment grade potassium permanganate

Desulphuration of tanning wastewater Potassium permanganate can oxidize S2- sulphion into elemental sulfur and the sulfate in corresponding medium condition to desulphurize the wastewater. The liquid effluent produced in leather liming process contains a great deal of sulfide well beyond maximum concentration of S2- to be borne by biological treatment. Treatment methods include physical treatment method and chemical treatment method. The latter also includes chemical precipitation method, acidification and absorption method and oxidation method.
Reduction in chromaticity and removal of COD Chromaticity and COD can be reduced by means of strong oxidability and decolorization of potassium permanganate. Optimum pH value of decolorization should be less than 1.5.
Removal of chrome, manganese and ferrum By strong oxidability of potassium permanganate Of potassium permanganate, mass concentration is 10mg/L,pH is 8 and filtering velocity is 5m/h, so its effect is better.
Removal of organic substances By strong oxidability of potassium permanganate Dosing concentration is 12mg/L, reaction time is 20min and pH is 6, so its effect for removal of organic substances is better.
Removal of alga By strong oxidability of potassium permanganate /
Removal of ammonia nitrogen and sterilization Chromaticity and COD can be reduced by means of strong oxidability and decolorization of potassium permanganate. /
Removal of aniline By strong oxidability of sodium permanganate

1. When mass concentration of sodium permanganate is 30mg/L, removal rate of aniline can reach 92.12%, and if the mass concentration of sodium permanganate continues to be increased, the removal rate of aniline will be slowed;

2. The removal rate in the condition of strong basicity or strong acidity is higher than that in neutral condition;

3. Temperature rise or time entension is beneficial to remove aniline.

Urban sewage treatment grade potassium permanganate

Removal of organic substances and turbidity Organic substances and turbidity can be removed by means of strong oxidability of potassium permanganate. Optimum mass concentration for dosing is 4-4.5mg/L.
Removal of turbidity

Groundwater treatment grade potassium permanganate

Removal of ferrum and manganese By strong oxidability of potassium permanganate Dosage of potassium permanganate is required between 0.4mg/L~0.8mg/L and reaction time between 5min~10min.
Removal of nitrobenzene By strong oxidability of potassium permanganate

Soil remediation grade potassium permanganate

Remove organic compounds from soil Phenanthrene, pyrene and hydrocarbon as well as organic compounds can be removed from soil by means of strong oxidability of potassium permanganate to effectivelly prevent Sheath Blight, black mold, damping-off and root rot from occurring.

1. Prepare aqueous solution of potassium permanganate with clean water or flowing water rather than sewage, dead water, water of washing rice, etc, otherwise its effect of oxidation and sterilization will be reduced;

2. Potassium permanganate is decomposed and fails easily in hot water or boiling water, so the solution must be prepared with common cold water. The solution must be prepared during use, and shall not be stored for long time after being prepared;

3. The weighing must be precise. If the concentration is too low, its effect of oxidation and sterilization cannot be played. If the concentration is too high, not only it will be wasted but also the seed embryo will be burnt when seed is soaked, so as to inhibit the emergence of seedlings;

4. Aqueous solution of potassium permanganate can only be used separately, and shall not be mixed with pesticide, chemical fertilizer, etc, otherwise the effect of potassium permanganate will be impacted seriouisly. Other pesticide or chemical fertilizer shall be used alternately.

Removel of phenanthrene, pyrene and hydrocarbon from soil

Atmospheric pollution control grade potassium permanganate

Desulfurization and denitration By means of strong oxidability of potassium permanganate, water-insoluble NO can be oxidized into NO2 so sa to be absorbed with SO2 at the same time in later period. When potassium permanganate exists and Ca/(S+0.5N) is 1.8, calcium-based sorbent can be used to obtain desulfurization rate of 31.4% and denitration rate of 13.5%.
Air purification

By means of strong oxidability of potassium permanganate, harmful gas in air can be oxidized and decomposed for purification. Sulfur oxide (SO2), formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, oxynitride and sulfureted hydrogen in the harmful gas as well as low-concentration aldehyde and organic acid can be removed effectively.

Trace, arsenic, phosphorus, silicane, borane and sulphide can also be removed.

1. High potassium and alumina balls, (zeolite, activated carbon) can be used together;

2. High potassium dosage is from 4% to 10% and can be customized on customer’s request;
