Graphene production grade potassium permanganate

Graphene production Graphite is oxidized with strong oxidant into graphite oxide, and hydroxyl, epoxy group and carboxyl are formed on six-membered ring at a graphite layer. On one hand, oxygen-containing groups are hydrophilous, and their introduction improves the water solubility of graphene to make the solubility of graphite oxide in water bigger and the stability increased. This is mostly used to prepare modified graphene in scientific research. On the other hand, introduction of oxygen-containing groups makes the space between graphite layers bigger because of steric-hinerance effect, reducing the agglomeration between graphite layers. Graphite oxide is basic step to prepare graphene.

Preparation of graphite oxide:

Assemble 500ml reaction bulb in ice-water bath, mix 5g graphite powder and 5g sodium nitrate with 200ml concentrated sulfuric acid uniformly, add 25g potassium perchlorate in while stirring, add 15g potassium permanganate several times after the solution is uniform, control the temperature not more than 20 ℃, stir the solution for a while, move away the ice-water bath, transfer the reaction bulb onto electromagnetic stirrer and stir the solution electromagnetically for 24h. Afterwards, add 200ml deionized water in slowly whicle stirring, make the temperature rise to about 98℃, stir the solution for 20min, and add enough hydrogen peroxide in to reduce residual oxidant and make the solution become brilliant yellow. And then separate suspension liquid of graphite oxide several times at 10,000rpm, and wash the separating medium with 5%Hcl solution and deionized water successively till separating medium pH=7.

Organic synthesis catalyst

Organic synthesis catalyst Chrome oxide green has a certain activity but the activity of γ-Cr2O3 with spinel structure is better. /

Industrial grade chromic anhydride

Water-proofing agent CR Use isopropyl alcohol to reduce chromic anhydride into ternary compound. The latter reacts with stearic acid to form complexes. Homogeneous mixture composed of these complexes and other compositions in reaction system is called as water-proofing agent CR. /

Industrial grade sodium dichromate

Sulphur-free expandable graphite Taking Na2Cr2O7/HClO4 as oxidation-intercalation system and with formic acid or acetic acid by acid liquor exchange method, swap out the insert between graphite layers with other acid liquor to prepare expandable graphite meeting requirements.

1) By weight, add 0.06-0.15 portion of sodium dichromate into water to prepare saturated solution, add 1 portion of crystalline flake graphite into the saturated solution and stir the solution evenly, add 1.5-3 portion of perchloric acid and stir the solution into paste, make the paste react at normal temperature for 30~120min, add in enough hydrogen peroxide with mass concentration of 5%, make the paste react for 10min, and filter the solution by washing;

2) Add the residue filtered out in Step 1) into acid liquor, control the temperature between 95 and 100℃, make the solution react for 30min, and then filter the solution by washing till filtrate pH is neutral, so as to gain the residue called as sulphur-free expandable graphite.
